Overview    

Avignon, situated in the center of Provence, is one of the most famous medieval cities in France and, indeed the whole of Europe. It owes its historical importance to the Popes of the 14th century who settled in the "Palais des Papes". Avignon offers an enchanting setting for people wishing to experience its numerous theatrical and musical festivals each year.


With the constant support of our native-speaking teachers along with the use of French television and press materials, you will be working exclusively in the target language throughout your stay. Come and join us! We have but one aim: to share with you our passion for communicating in French.

 

Accommodation   

The rates indicated in our price lists include either single room accommodation at the center (with shower and/or bath and WC) or accommodation of a comparable standard at a local hotel (depending on availability).

If you are seeking a higher standard of comfort, two studios (with separate office) are available at the center for an extra charge, and need to be booked in advance. Alternatively, a room of superior quality at a nearby hotel can be reserved for a supplementary charge. We ask students who are staying at a hotel to please come to the reception at CERAN PROVENCE first to check in.


Your room:

All of our rooms have AC and are equipped with a cassette player and a safe. The telephones are equipped with an alarm device for wake up calls and internet access is available through wireless connection. All bedrooms have bathroom and WC. Hair dryers can be provided to the students upon request.

Your partner:

Special rates: 15% reduction for your partner if you study at the same time at the same CERAN center.

 

Transfers   

We strongly recommend that you arrive at the center on Sunday between 5.00 and 7.00 p.m.

To facilitate your arrival and departure, a transport service (single and/or return) is at your disposal from or to:

  • Avignon Airport : 20 €
  • Marseille Airport : 160 €

In order to book your transfer, please advise CERAN PROVENCE of your time of arrival at the airport. You will then receive written confirmation of your transport details. You will be met at the airport and driven to CERAN PROVENCE. Upon your departure, you will be driven to the airport.

If you wish to arrive one or more days in advance, which is particularly recommended if you are arriving from a different time zone, please contact us so that we can provide assistance in arranging your stay at a hotel in Avignon or the surroundings.

Weekends & Leisure   

Courses run until Friday evening.

We can arrange the following options for you depending on availability and upon payment of a supplement:

  • dinner on Friday evening with other students at a restaurant near the center.
  • accommodation and breakfast at CERAN PROVENCE or in a nearby hotel for Friday and Saturday nights.
  • private lessons (minimum 2) for you on Friday afternoon and/or Saturday.

The Sports facilities:

At the center: An outdoor pool, mini-golf and petanque are available for your use. Bikes are available at the center as well.

Near the center: Tennis courts, a gym and a large number of golf courses can be found nearby. The CERAN PROVENCE reception staff will advise you about fees and reservations.

There are many places and villages that you can visit in the surroundings during the weekends: l'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue (flea market market held every Sunday), the Lubéron, the Alpilles (the Baux, Saint-Rémy de Provence), Pont du Gard, Avignon (the Palais des Papes, the Festival in July), Aix-en-Provence. We can help you plan your weekends and arrange hotel reservation, car rental and organized tours.
