Overview

Based on requests made by teahers, we have developed a Special Program for Teachers of French. Whether you would like to brush up on your language skills, explore the local culture, or exchange teaching ideas with other educators, this program will prove to be highly beneficial. It is a one-week intensive French immersion program at CERAN Provence with a triple objective:

Increase fluency through full immersion and classes in small groups
Workshops on pedagogy
Cultural discovery of Provence

Content and details

The Special Program for Teachers of French is an intensive full immersion program, based on the structure and content of the CERAN program for adults.

Each day is made up of

• 6 learning activities including
  • 4 Group lessons in small groups of no more than 8 participants, with a focus on listening comprehension, oral expression, interaction, as well as the needs of the participants
  • 1 Language laboratory period
  • 1 Phonetic training session using Speedlingua
• 2 workshops focusing on pedagogy and methodology
  • Cross-cultural communication
  • Written language
  • Enhancing interaction in the classroom
  • Pedagogical supports for language learning
• Socio-cultural activities in the evening, including a field trip to Avignon, a teambuilding game, and an evening on the "francophonie"

Practical Information

Dates of the program: from June 20 to June 25, 2010.

New dates could be added based on requests made by teachers. If you'd like to see the program offered at a different time of year (Winter break? Spring break?), please let us know!

Price: EUR 1650 (or USD 2350) for the one-week program

The price includes tuition, course material, final language report, full board and accommodation from Sunday evening until Friday afternoon, as well as evening activities.
