Overview    

CERAN Madrid en LOS PEÑASCALES is located about 18 miles from Madrid, in a natural and advantageous setting which is easy of access, near the village of Torrelodones. Casa Palacio, built in 1892 and recently renovated, is at the heart of the exceptionally-situated residential area of CERAN Madrid en LOS PEÑASCALES. Providing the perfect setting for immersion in the language and culture of Spain, it boasts tranquility, comfort and high-level service, as well as the most modern facilities.

As in all CERAN centers, the experience, professionalism, and enthusiasm of our teachers, who come from Spain and Latin America, will contribute to the success of your stay. CERAN Madrid en LOS PEÑASCALES has a 15-acre Natural Park as well as a wide range of sport facilities. Starting out from this central area, you will venture effortlessly into the surrounding region, cradle of the Spanish language, to towns and cities rich in history, culture and gastronomy, such as Madrid, Toledo, Segovia and Cervantes' birthplace, Alcala de Henares.

With the constant support of our native-speaking teachers along with the use of Spanish television and press materials, you will be working exclusively in the target language throughout your stay. Come and join us! We have but one aim: to share with you our passion for communicating in Spanish.

 

Accommodation   

The rates indicated in our price lists include either single room accommodation at the center (with shower and/or bath and WC) or accommodation of a comparable standard at a local hotel (depending on availability). If you are seeking a higher standard of comfort, some rooms of a superior quality are available at selected local hotels and can be reserved for a supplementary charge. We ask students who are staying at a hotel to please come to the reception at CERAN Madrid en LOS PEÑASCALES first to check in.


Your room:

All of our rooms have air-conditioning and are equipped with a cassette player and television. The telephones are equipped with an alarm device for wake up calls and internet access is available through your personal telephone line. All bedrooms have bathroom and WC.

Your partner:

Special rates: 15% reduction for your partner if you study at the same time at the same CERAN center.

 

Transfers   

We strongly recommend that you arrive at the center on Sunday between 5.00 and 7.00 p.m.

To facilitate your arrival and departure, a transport service (single and/or return) is at your disposal from or to:

  • Madrid Barajas Airport (+ 25 km from CERAN Madrid en LOS PEÑASCALES) : 65 €

In order to book your transfer, please advise the CERAN center of your time of arrival at the airport. You will then receive written confirmation of your transport details. You will be met at the airport and driven to the CERAN Madrid en LOS PEÑASCALES center. Upon your departure, you will be driven to the airport.

Weekends & Leisure   


Courses run until Friday.

We can arrange the following options for you depending on availability and upon payment of a supplement:

  • dinner on Friday evening with other students at a restaurant near the center.
  • accommodation and breakfast at CERAN SPAIN en LOS PEÑASCALES or in a nearby hotel for Friday and Saturday nights.
  • private lessons (minimum 2) for you on Friday afternoon and/or Saturday.

You will be asked to indicate your wishes on the annex confirming your CERAN stay.

Sports facilities:

CERAN Madrid en LOS PEÑASCALES has an outdoor swimming pool, tennis, basketball and soccer courts. There are plenty of opportunities for jogging or walking in the park.

Outside the center, there is an indoor swimming pool and a gym (1.5 mile from CERAN center), golf courts and horse riding facilities (3 miles from CERAN center). Our staff can help you in arranging reservations at those places.

Sightseeing:

The CERAN Center is located 19 miles Northwest of Madrid, at 20 minutes by car or 35 minutes by train.  The nearest train station is situated at 1,5 kms from the CERAN Center.

The CERAN Center is situated in the heart of a region rich in culture and gastronomy.  At less than 1 hour distance by car or train, you can also visit Toledo (ancient capital of Spain, medieval town), Segovia (roman aqueduct), Ávila (medieval ramparts), Aranjuez (Royal Summer Palace), Alcala (Cervantes’ birthplace), etc.

All major cities of Spain are at less than 1 hour distance by plane from Madrid Airport : Barcelona, Valencia, Malaga, Granada, Seville, San Sebastian, etc.  The high speed train “AVE” takes you from Madrid to Seville in 2,5 hours.
